Head of Academy Shakespeare masterclass
I have just given out Head of Academy awards and certificates to the very capable group of Year 7s that I was fortunate to teach in after school sessions this term. I invited students with high KS2 scores and set a real challenge -to read, understand and perform (sections) of Twelfth Night.
I have been humbled by the response. All students who attended were able to understand the text and responded to the humour also. It is a play I normally teach at GCSE and A level so it shows how capable the young people are. It was lovely to have some parents join us for the last masterclass.
I have also taught French to another Year 7 class for 4 weeks and enjoyed it immensely. Over the year, I intend to teach every Year 7 student at some stage and get to know them all.
