Proud to be an FMAT Academy

Letter from Vice Principal

18th May 2023

Dear parents/guardians.

At Erdington we have always been very proud of our student’s attendance. We have been in the top 5% of similar schools nationally for the past few years. For this to continue we need your support in pushing your child to 100% attendance each academic year. Appointments should ideally be made outside of school hours where possible. For us, we understand that one day missed of learning impacts your child final grades in Year 11.

The My Child at School (MCAS) is a portal that will enable all parents/ carers to view their child’s academic performance in real-time via a web browser mobile app.  This facility allows exclusive access to key academic dates, attendance information and the personal details the school holds for you and your child. In short, it will enable you to have everything in one place to support your child at school.

Can you please ensure you have downloaded the MCAS app, you would have received log in information via email, as going forward this will be our main form of communication. From May half term, you will no longer receive detention text notifications but will receive the information though this MCAS app.

Water bottles

Erdington Academy has been implementing a single-use plastic bottle ban since April 2022. These bans have been currently being implemented in communities around the world and are a feasible and economical approach to making our school more environmentally friendly. We thank you for your support with this matter.

Examples of acceptable bottles are shown below, they must be rigid and reusable.  There are many available from local supermarkets such as Asda: Bottles, Flasks & Travel Mugs – ASDA Groceries

Aldi: reusable bottles – ALDI UK
