RE: Year 7 Settling in Evening, Tuesday 19th October
I hope that your child is enjoying their lessons and time spent at Erdington Academy this half term. It can be an anxious time for both parents and children, but by now they should be getting used to the school environment, routines and opportunities to develop both personally and academically.
We would like to invite you to a Year 7 Settling in Evening on Tuesday 19th October 4-7pm. On the evening, you will meet with your child’s form tutor to find out about how your child is settling into life at Erdington Academy, discuss your child’s achievements and highlight any concerns and the opportunity to look at your child’s books and work. Miss. Hunt (Assistant Head SENCO) and Mr. Khan (Head of Year 7) will be available for appointments, as well as Associate Assistant Heads (Faculty Leads) should you wish to find out more about the Year 7 curriculum.
You also have the chance to book on a workshop hosted by community group URBAN DEVOTION on social media and teenagers, an informative session on how to keep safe when using social media. The session will last approximately 30 minutes. Please respond to this letter if you would like a space on the workshop, it will run at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm (don’t overlap with your tutor meeting please).
Your child should make the appointment with their tutor and make a record of the time in their planner. Please let your child know what times you are available before they make the appointment. If you would like an appointment with Mr. Khan or Miss. Hunt, then please contact school to do so.
