Dear Parents /Carers
It has been lovely to see how quickly students have settled into academy life following the recent half term break. It always fills me with pride to walk around the academy seeing students who embody our values in all aspects of academy life.
We are unapologetic about the high standards we have of the students who are in our care at Erdington Academy and will be relentless in our drive to ensure all students are learning and growing everyday both socially and academically.
To realise our ambition, we know how important the relationship between home and school is and are always looking for ways that we can make these links stronger.
We want to strengthen the communication about what students are learning and have produced a termly curriculum Home Learning Collaboration document for key stage 3 (Years 7-9) for each subject. These documents provide a useful starting point for you to have a conversation with your child about what they are doing at school and why. Furthermore, they provide you with practical strategies and information, so you can support your child’s learning at home.
The Home learning collaboration documents are available on our Academy website under the curriculum tab, which can be found under “Academy Life”.
We hope you enjoy reading about what your child is learning and look forward to hearing from you about how you have used them to support their learning.
