Strike Information – 15th & 16th March 2023

Industrial Action 15th and 16th March
Dear parents/carers,

The third and fourth strike action days from the National education Union (NEU) will take place on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March 2023.  The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the union and the government over teacher’s pay, and not because of any issues at our school.

I am getting in touch to give you as much notice as possible about our arrangements. Erdington Academy will operate a partial closure on both days, in which some year groups will be working remotely from home. Please see the overview below:

I am sorry that you will have to make alternative arrangements for your child during these days and we are aiming to give you as much notice as possible. I understand that this situation may be frustrating and ask that all members of our school community continue to treat each other with respect.  Erdington Academy remains committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our pupils and delivering high-quality teaching.

We are working closely with our staff union representatives to keep up to date with the situation, and I will inform you as soon as possible if arrangements change further.

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s Head of Year by contacting Main Reception at the school.

Regards
