Dear Parents/Carers
We are writing to inform you that the school will be carrying out a lockdown drill in the coming weeks as part of our ongoing commitment to the safety and security of all students and staff. This is an activity we have practiced with students for many years as part of our strong culture of safeguarding.
The purpose of this drill is to ensure that everyone in school knows what to do in the unlikely event of a situation requiring a lockdown. During the drill, the lockdown alarm will be sounded, and staff will follow our lockdown procedures to keep students safe.
We are sharing this information with you so that you are aware of the arrangements and can discuss them with your child beforehand and not cause distress or alarm if students come home after the practice to discuss. We believe that preparing for such scenarios is an important part of maintaining a safe learning environment. The SEND team in school will identify any students who they feel might experience difficulties during the lockdown drill and will make arrangements to support appropriately.
If you have any questions or would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Halstead at the school.
Thank you for your support in helping us keep our school community safe.
Yours sincerely
Jason Halstead
