Erdington Academy students raise £303 for Birmingham Hospice

Erdington Academy students have once again shown the power of community, compassion and teamwork, raising £303 during this year’s Charity Week in support of Birmingham Hospice.

Charity Week is a much‑loved annual tradition at Erdington Academy, bringing students together to champion a local cause while enjoying a packed programme of fundraising activities. This year’s events included games and competitions, bake sales, donation challenges and creative form‑led fundraising, all designed and delivered with real enthusiasm.

Students selected Birmingham Hospice as the academy’s charity for 2025 after taking part in the Bulls in the City Art Trail. The experience helped them connect with the hospice’s mission and understand the importance of compassionate care for people and families during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Mr Haughton, Character Lead for Mercia House, praised the students’ commitment, and said: “Our students wanted to support Birmingham Hospice because it provides such an important service to families across our community.

“Charity Week isn’t just about raising money, it’s about helping our young people understand the impact they can have when they work together for a worthwhile cause. We’re incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, kindness and generosity they have shown throughout the week.”

This is the second year Erdington Academy has fundraised specifically for Birmingham Hospice, and the school is delighted to continue to support the incredible work they do.
