September and Autumn 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,
We would like to share some free and low-cost family opportunities in Birmingham and the wider West Midlands. Some are available only for a short time, while others can be enjoyed throughout the year. Please check the linked website before travelling, as details can change.
At Erdington Academy, our curriculum includes more than learning in lessons. Experiences beyond the classroom help pupils connect what they learn with the wider world, discover new interests and develop confidence. Visits, reading and physical activity can all spark curiosity and conversation. We hope these free and low-cost suggestions make it easier for families to explore together.
Dudley Zoo and Castle Offers
Residents with a B, DY, WS or WV postcode can visit for £10 per person throughout September. Visitors must show identification with proof of address on arrival. Read the postcode offer and book
A separate offer runs during October and November: up to two children aged 3 to 15 can enter free with each full-paying adult when tickets are purchased online in advance. Read the children go free offer
