10 Days of Attendance Recognition!

16th January 2026

Dear Parents and carers,

RE: Let’s target the run-up to the Mock Exams, with positivity and purpose:  10 Days of Attendance Recognition!

Last term, we focused on breaking down some of the barriers that affect school attendance by listening to parents and families, offering tailored support and working with external partners. Thanks to your input and collaboration, we have made real progress. To celebrate these efforts and keep momentum going, we are excited to launch our 10 Days of Positivity Challenge in the run up to the Mock Exams.

What is the 10 Days of Positivity?

From Wednesday 21st January to Tuesday 3rd February, we will mark each of the 10 school days with recognitions, encouragement and prizes, all to celebrate excellent attendance.

Here is how students and families can take part and win:

  • Daily Recognitions – Each day a student attends, they will be entered into a prize draw for sweet treats, lucky dips and much more.
  • Grand Prize Draw – Students who achieve 100% attendance for all 10 days will be entered into our final prize draw to win a £50 supermarket voucher.
  • Families Attendance Success Tracker – Please print and use the Attendance Success Tracker attached to tick off your children’s daily success and determination.

The regular half termly ‘100% Attendance & Punctuality Prize Draw’ for students will continue to run. This 10-day focus is an additional bonus for those who attend well.

While the excitement of prizes adds a fun element to this challenge, we want to highlight something even more valuable: the power of intrinsic motivation. This challenge is not just about external rewards; it is about helping students discover the self-pride and determination that comes from consistent effort and commitment.

By choosing to come to school every day, students will demonstrate incredible character traits such as:

  • Resilience: Pushing through when it might be easier to stay home.
  • Responsibility: Understanding the importance of their education and their role in it.
  • Consistency: Showing up and putting in the work.
  • Self-Discipline: Making the choice to prioritise their learning, even on colder, darker more miserable mornings.

These are not just traits that lead to good attendance, they are qualities that will serve them well throughout their academic journey and into their future. The real reward of consistent attendance is the knowledge gained, the friendships made and the confidence built from knowing they are giving their best. We hope that the pride your child feels from being present and engaged will be the greatest prize of all.
