The PSHE curriculum at Erdington Academy gives students the resilience to overcome the inevitable obstacles that life will throw their way such as, puberty, dealing with mental health and integrating into an ethnically diverse and multicultural society. The curriculum teaches our students to make informed choices and decisions and be accountable for their actions. We also provide opportunities for students to develop personally, professional as well as academically through the promotion and encouragement of LORIC (Leadership, Organisation, resilience, initiative, and communication). At the core of our curriculum is the implementation of British values, which students are enriched with in form time, PSHE and enrichment days. Having British values at the core of PSHE is crucial and sets the foundation for students to be able to positively access the curriculum across the academy.
