Dear Parent/Carers
We are delighted to reflect on the wonderful achievements and events that have taken place in our Academy recently, each one showcasing The Erdington Way in action — especially our core value of Tradition. Whether through charity, celebration, or community involvement, our students continue to demonstrate the qualities we strive to instil every day.
Across the past week, our young people have shown empathy, leadership, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference. It has been inspiring to see students take initiative, work collaboratively, and embrace opportunities to contribute to our school community. Their actions remind us that kindness, responsibility, and pride are not just taught at Erdington Academy — they are lived.
Charity Week – A Celebration of Kindness and Community
Despite the challenges of last week’s heatwave, we are delighted to share the wonderful success of this year’s Charity Week. Charity Week is more than a fundraising initiative; it is a powerful expression of the values we aim to instil in our students every day. Even in unusually high temperatures, our students showed remarkable resilience, enthusiasm, and compassion. So far, they have raised over £300, with several events still ongoing. Their teamwork and positivity shone through, and we are incredibly proud of the way they embraced the spirit of giving, supported one another, and continued to contribute to a meaningful cause.
Culture Fest: Celebrating Talent and Diversity
This week also saw the return of our vibrant Culture Fest, a joyful celebration of the diverse talents and backgrounds within our Academy community. Students showcased an impressive range of performances, and we were thrilled to welcome a professional band who brought fantastic energy to the event. We sold a variety of dishes from different cultures, creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere that was enjoyed by students, staff, and families alike. A special thank you goes to the staff, whose support and hard work made this event possible.
Attendance Reminder
While many of us will be cheering on England this Sunday, this is a reminder that school will open as normal on Monday. All students are expected to arrive promptly at 8:40am, ready for a positive start to the week.
Thank you
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all students, staff, and families who have supported our events so far. Your generosity, enthusiasm, and continued involvement strengthen our community and help ensure that kindness remains a lived value at Erdington Academy every single day.
Kind regards
S Boreland-Muschette
