Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope this message finds you well.
At Erdington Academy, we are continually grateful for the kindness and support shown by our school community. We recognise that this time of year can be especially difficult for many families, and we want to acknowledge the pressures that come with it.
Today, we are reaching out to ask for your support with our Disaster Relief Appeal for students and families in Jamaica who have been severely affected by Hurricane Mellisa. Many have lost everything, and your help can make a real difference.
We are collecting donations to support families, schools, and individuals impacted by this crisis. Whether large or small, every contribution will go directly to those in need and will be deeply appreciated.
We are currently appealing for the following items:
- Non-perishable food (e.g. tinned sardines, tuna, salmon, condensed milk, sugar, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, chopped tomatoes, oats, sweetcorn, mackerel, pasta, rice, cereals, cooking oil)
- School supplies (e.g. pens, pencils, crayons, books, rulers, erasers, markers, colouring books)
- Cleaning products (e.g. disinfectant, bleach, brushes, Dettol, sponges, dishwashing liquid, bin bags)
- Clothing (e.g. coats, hats, tops, trousers, pyjamas)
- Blankets and sleeping bags
- Toiletries (e.g. soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sanitary products)
- Baby essentials (e.g. nappies, formula, wipes, Vaseline)
- First aid items
- Flashlights and batteries
Donations can be dropped off at the school reception during the school day. We will be accepting items from Friday 7th November to Friday 20th November.
Thank you, as always, for your generosity and continued support. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who need it most.
Kind regard
Miss K. Folkes
