Head of Year 11 Parental Letter – 20/1/2026

20th January 2026

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Subject: Importance of Interventions

I am writing to remind you of the importance of your child’s attendance at the GCSE revision sessions taking place in the lead-up to their upcoming examinations. These sessions are designed to provide essential support, reinforce key knowledge, and help students build the confidence and skills required to achieve their full potential.

As we approach the final stages of preparation, it is vital that students attend all scheduled intervention and revision sessions. Consistent attendance and punctuality are crucial, particularly as we enter the mock exam period, which will take place from 9th February to 27th February. These mock examinations provide an important opportunity for students to experience exam conditions, identify areas for improvement, and receive targeted feedback from their teachers.

We kindly ask for your continued support in ensuring your child is punctual and prepared during this important period. Strong attendance and punctuality will enable them to make the most of the high‑quality teaching and revision opportunities available as they work towards their final GCSE exams.

Please also be aware of the end of year reward guidelines during this period as lates contribute to negative points:

  • 50 negatives – No Alton Towers trip
  • 15 Lates – No Prom
  • 50 negatives and 15 lates – No Alton Towers trip and no Prom
  • Suspensions – No Alton Towers trip, no Prom, and no Leavers’ Lunch

These expectations are in place to encourage students to maintain high standards of behaviour, commitment, and engagement, especially during this crucial time in their academic journey.

If you have any questions or require further details about the intervention schedule or mock examinations, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Another area of importance is uniform standards. Please make sure your child is ready in full uniform as we are still experiencing a small number of students not following the uniform policy. Shoes must be changed before entering the school if they have arrived in trainers, no eye lashes or fake nails and no tight or short fitted skirt – they must be just above the knee and tailored(loose).

Yours sincerely,

Mr Y Khan

Head of Year 11
