Proud to be an FMAT Academy

Parental letter -15/12/2025

15 December 2025

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the end of the autumn term, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the tremendous efforts and achievements of our students during this season.

This term has been marked by growth, resilience, and a commitment to our shared values of Ambition, Dedication, Integrity, Excellence, and Tradition, it is a real pleasure to see more and more students receiving their values badges for modelling these through their work and deeds.

Our students have demonstrated remarkable ambition in their studies, striving to reach their personal best in every subject. This dedication to their education is evident in the hard work and enthusiasm shown in lessons, extracurricular activities, and the recent BASE assessments and Year 11 mocks.

Integrity continues to be a cornerstone of our school culture. We are proud to see our students embodying honesty and respect in both their interactions with one another and their academic pursuits. This fosters a supportive environment where all students can thrive, we have a wide range of after school activities for students to engage in and it is always a joy to walk around the Academy after lessons and speak to the students involved in these opportunities.

Excellence remains at the forefront of our vision, and we celebrate the many successes of our students, from academic accomplishments to sporting victories. The range of events, from our first Black History Conference to our student’s participation in the FMAT Show at Birmingham University’s Bramall Hall, showcases the talents and determination that our students possess and highlighted their commitment to uphold the traditions of excellence at Erdington Academy.

As we look forward to 2026, we encourage you to continue supporting your child’s education. Engaging in their learning, discussing goals, and fostering a love of learning at home will reinforce the values we cherish as a school community. Our website contains the curriculums your children follow and the most powerful support you can provide is to discuss these with students on a daily basis. Getting students to discuss their learning and explain something to yourselves supports them achieve a greater understanding of topics.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you, the parents and guardians, for your unwavering support and involvement in our school community. It is your dedication that helps create an environment where our students can succeed.

As we break for the holiday, I wish you and your families a restful and enjoyable time together. We look forward to welcoming our students back in January, refreshed and ready to continue their journey of growth and achievement.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
