Year 11 Results Day – 21st August 2025

Dear Parent/Carer,

I hope this letter finds you all well and that your child is making the most of the time they have following the end of Year 11 and the start of their post-16 education. As I stated in my earlier letter to you, I am writing to give you more information on the current plan for results day and the appeals process.

 Results Day

GCSE results day is Thursday 21st August, results will be distributed from the main hall and access to the site will be by the front gate only from 9.00 am until 11.00am. A small number of staff will be on hand to give out the results envelopes and answer, as best we can, any queries they may have. Post 16 providers will be on hand to answer any additional questions.

Appeals Process

Appeals can only be submitted by the head of centre. The appeals process is outlined here in this document Appeals – JCQ Joint Council for Qualifications.

When students collect their results, we will ask them to sign to give consent should we need to review any of their marks and to look at marked scripts. Please be aware that the outcome of any subsequent appeal might be that their final subject grade and/or mark may be lower than, higher than, or stay the same as the result which was originally awarded. We will contact you by phone if we will be requesting a review of marking for your final consent. Please see further guidance on the school website Examination Information – Erdington Academy.

This will no doubt be an exciting day for the students, and I wish all our Year 11 students the very best of luck with their result and I look forward to seeing them all here on the day.

Best wishes for the future.

Mrs Muschette

Assistant Principal.
