Dear Parent/Carer
RE: EARLY CLOSURE ON THE LAST DAY OF CHRISTMAS TERM
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to inform you of a positive change to our last school day on Friday, 20 December 2024. I am pleased to share this exciting news with you, as it aligns with the plans of many local schools and businesses.
As with last year, with the later than usual finish to term, so close to the holiday season, we, along with all schools and the central team in the Fairfax Multi-Academy Trust have decided to shorten the last day of this term.
The decision to align our schedule with other local institutions closing on this day aims to provide a more cohesive experience for our students and facilitate easier coordination for families on the last working day before the holiday season.
On Friday, 20 December school will commence as normal at 8:40am and end after period 3, at 12:40pm.
We understand the importance of family traditions and the joy that the holiday season brings. We hope that this adjustment will allow you and your family to make the most of this special time together.
Similar to times during lockdown and snow days, there will be provision in school for students who are unable to go home after period 3, up until the usual finish time of 3:10pm. Erdington Academy will also provide packed lunches for all our students in receipt of Free School Meals, and these will be available for collection from our school Canteen at break time.
Any parents wishing to take up this offer, could we kindly ask you to inform us no later than Friday 13 December by completing the attached form. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=HnypkIpiskmKnVw6Paee-6M3FqNdLMZLoM1iPAU9-PVUNlhHRU5VWTFMWUkyVk5WMUlVMVpXSkJYNS4u
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please feel free to reach out to us via the contact details above. We value your understanding and support as we strive to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment for our students.
Thank you for your continued partnership with Erdington Academy, and we wish you and your family a joyful holiday season when it arrives.
Yours sincerely
Mr S Mallett
