Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you well and that you had a restful and enjoyable break and extended weekend. As we welcome the start of the summer term, I am excited to share our focus for the upcoming months: developing good habits.
At Erdington Academy, we believe that fostering positive habits is crucial for our students’ overall growth and success. This term, we will be emphasising the importance of habits such as punctuality, organisation, healthy living, and kindness. Our goal is to equip our students with the skills and mindset they need to thrive both academically and personally.
In addition to our focus on developing good habits, we are committed to upholding our core values of excellence, dedication, integrity, tradition, and ambition. These values are the foundation of our school community and guide us in everything we do. We strive for excellence in all our endeavours, encourage dedication to learning and personal growth, uphold integrity in our actions, honour our traditions, and foster ambition to reach new heights.
As we approach the final exam season, we understand that some students might be experiencing worries and anxieties. We want to remind our students that they are not alone and that we are here to support them every step of the way. If you are concerned about your child, whether they are in Year 11 or any other year, please contact the pastoral team or safeguarding team in school. Please also remind your child that they can speak to any adult in school, or if they have concerns about themselves or another student, they can make an anonymous referral through the school SHARP system.
Throughout the term, we will be integrating various activities and lessons designed to help students understand and practice these habits and values. From classroom discussions and assemblies to school-wide initiatives, we aim to create an environment that supports and encourages positive behaviour, character development and a sense of belonging.
We also recognise the vital role that parents and guardians play in reinforcing these habits and values at home. Your support and involvement are invaluable, and we encourage you to engage in conversations with your children about the habits and values they are learning and practicing at school.
Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher or myself if you have any questions or would like to discuss how we can work together to support your child’s development.
Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to our school community. We look forward to a productive and inspiring summer term.
Warm regards,
Ms Cross
