Proud to be an FMAT Academy

Charity non-uniform day on Friday 26th April

Dear parents and carers,

This week in assembly, I am presenting to the students about an event that I am taking part in .

On 6th -9th June I will be participating alongside 250 other cyclists in a sponsored cycle from London to Paris. This cycle ride is to raise awareness and funds for “Cure Leukaemia”, and the target is to raise £500 000. What ever we manage to raise as a group, Barclays Bank have pledged to match.

To support this, and in recognition of the efforts that many of our students are making, and the positive comments and support that I have received from students, the Academy will be having a non-uniform day on Friday 26th April.

Students may wear their own cloths to school. Clothing should be appropriate for a school environment, and so “bandanas” or face masks of any description are not permitted. Make up should still be discrete, and any jewellery or earrings should still be in line with our policy regarding health and safety, i.e. earrings should be studs not loops.

Contributions to the charity, although not compulsory, would be very much appreciated via the “Just Giving” page below: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/gareth-rowlands2024

Cash contributions can also be made on the day.

This is a charity that is very close to my heart, and all funds that we raise will go to the charity to fight this horrible disease.

Yours sincerely

Mr G Rowlands

Head of Year 10
