RE: Year 10 KS4 Curriculum
I hope that all students in Year 10 have settled into the new academic term and are adjusting and enjoying their preferred key stage 4 curriculum subjects.
We understand that making decisions about what you will study for the next two years is difficult and want to support students so that they feel the courses and curriculum offer they have chosen is right for them.
While many students will be happy with the subjects that form their KS4 curriculum, for some, they may wish to be considered for possible changes.
To facilitate this, we are opening a consultation window from 9 am Monday 24th September until 9am Friday 29th September whereby students who wish can be considered for changes to their timetable.
If your child would like to have their KS4 curriculum reviewed, they will need to write a letter addressed to myself, Ms Cross, which expresses the reasons that they wish to change their curriculum choices and clearly state the subject they would like to change and the subject they would like to change to.
This letter will need to be signed by both the student and their parent/carer. Once your child’s letter is submitted, each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and in the order with which they are received.
It is important to note that while we will do everything to accommodate your requests, movement will only be possible where capacity in groups can be created.
Please note that the consultation period closes at 9am on Friday 27th September, therefore any letters or requests made after this date will not be considered.
