24 March 2021
Dear Parent/Carer
Year 9 – Remote Learning – Thursday 25th March 2021 and Friday 26th March 2021.
I am writing to you all to convey my thanks for the support you have shown in the recent weeks in supporting students return to the academy.
As you are all more than aware the recent national increase in Corona virus cases have lead to a national lockdown. This national increase in cases has also had an impact in school, both through a small rise in isolated positive cases amongst the school population and a larger increase in staff having to isolate due to contacts or family members. It is regrettably that due to this we are unable to maintain safe levels of staffing and supervision within the school and I have unfortunately had to make the decision to have the Year 9 students working remotely from home. Staff will continue to set work via Microsoft Teams and Show My Homework, please monitor this to ensure students are completing the work set.
During this time of uncertainty and rapid change you have continued to work with the Academy to ensure our students follow the guidance. If at these challenging times you feel you need any additional support regarding remote working, mental health provision or any other concerns please do contact us and we will continue to do all we can to assist you and your families.
We currently plan to re-open to Year 9 from Monday 29th March 2021, if this is not possible further communication will follow on Friday. Vulnerable students and the students of key workers that require provision can attend but please contact the academy to arrange.
Best wishes

S Mallett
Head of Academy
