Letter to Parents & Carers – 18/12/2023

18 December 2023

Dear Parents/Carers

We hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits. As we approach the festive season, we wanted to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support and partnership in ensuring the success of our students at Erdington Academy. Your involvement and encouragement play a crucial role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for all.

First and foremost, we extend our congratulations to the students for their active participation in various school activities, particularly ‘Culture Fest’.  It is heartwarming to witness the enthusiasm and talent displayed by our students, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere that permeates our school. As we enter the last week before the winter break, we would like to draw your attention to a few important reminders regarding our school standards. These guidelines are designed to maintain a conducive and respectful learning environment for everyone involved.

Punctuality

Please emphasise the importance of punctuality to school. Being on time is a key factor in ensuring that students make the most of their learning opportunities. A reminder that students should be on site no later than 8:40am.

Attendance

Encourage regular attendance to minimise any potential disruption to the learning process. We understand unforeseen circumstances may arise, but consistent attendance is crucial for academic success. Timely attendance and active participation can make them eligible for end of year rewards.

Mobile Phones

Reinforce our policy on mobile phones. They should not be visible or audible during school hours. Any violation of this rule will result in the confiscation of the device.

First confiscation – If seen or heard, phones/headphones will be confiscated and given to Reception for collection at the end of the school day.

Second confiscation – If seen or heard, phones/headphones will be confiscated and given to Reception for collection at the end of the school day and a letter will be sent home discussing the next steps. (Head of Year to make phone call home).

Third confiscation – Parents/guardian will need to physically the collect mobile/headphones from reception.

Uniform Standards

Remind students to adhere to our uniform standards. This includes wearing blazers unless explicitly permitted otherwise, tucking in shirts, ensuring appropriate skirt length, and refraining from wearing hooped earrings.

We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in reinforcing these expectations with your child. By working together, we can maintain a disciplined and focused educational environment that benefits every student.

Yours sincerely

Kav Pawar

Vice Principal
