Dear Parent’s / Carers
I am writing to you, to thank you for your support last week when we had to make the difficult decision to close the academy due to the adverse weather conditions.
For year 9, we understand that this impacted an important parent’s evening and want to apologise that the contingency plan of a remote parent’s evening did not work as expected. We are working with the company School Cloud to find out what happened and work to prevent this happening again.
I know that many of our dedicated staff contacted parents via phone, but also understand that for some this was not possible. I have therefore spoken to all teachers of year 9 today and asked that they contact you by phone or email by Friday 17th March.
Staff will prioritise parents who made parental appointments, but will also endeavour to contact all of the students they teach in year 9. If you have not received a call from your child’s teachers, please let us know.
I know that these meetings are important to you and will be used to inform your final Key Stage 4 preferences, so have made the decision to postpone the deadline for the submission of these to 9am Tuesday 21st March. You are of course welcome to complete your preferences prior to this date should you wish to.
