Dear Parent/Carer,
Hello and a warm welcome to Erdington Academy! We hope you have had a restful and safe summer. We are really looking forward to welcoming students into the new academic year 2024/25. Allow me to formally introduce myself, I am Mrs Owens-Kenny the Head of Year 7, I look forward to working closely with you all this year.
What matters to me most is your happiness and safety at Erdington Academy; I will do my upmost to make your time here enjoyable. We are fortunate to have several Head of Years as well as the MW mentors who are always willing to help and support if needed. Please be assured I will be here to help with any issues or problems you may have alongside your form tutors.
At Erdington Academy, we ask that all students arrive to school on time for 8.40 and attend all lessons punctually. The expectations of our students are to be respectful, honest and to always try your best. Please can you help to support the Academy by ensuring that your child is always in the correct uniform, which can be found on the school website. Uniform can be purchased from Clive Mark or Trutex Erdington.
I would also like to take the opportunity to remind you of the mobile phone policy. Mobile phones are not to be seen or heard while in school. If a mobile is seen or heard it will be confiscated, which will be given back to the student at the end of the day. If you need to contact your child during school hours, please contact main reception on 0121 373 1080.
All Year 7 will have been assigned to a house, everyone in your form will be in the same house during Form time you will complete exciting activities and sometimes be in competition with other houses! Students will have opportunities to follow the rewards programme these rewards will be accessible through competitions and following the expectations here at Erdington Academy. Achievement points will continue to be given to students that demonstrate our Academy values.
Pupils please do not hesitate to come and see me if you have any worries or concerns. If you have any issues, please email your child’s form tutor on the emails below or me. I look forward to working with you and your child to ensure their success this academic year.
